About Dr. Marlon O. Lajo |
|
| |
|
Dr. Marlon O. Lajo is a board certified plastic surgeon and a diplomate of Philippine Board of Plastic Surgery . Dr. Lajo is also a fellow of Philippine Association Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons,Inc.(PAPRAS), a bonafide surgical specialty society of the Philippine College of Surgeons(PCS). PCS only recognizes surgical societies/specialties whose members undergo duly accredited training programs in order to attain utmost in terms of surgical skills and ethical practice. He underwent 6 years of formal training in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery in U.P.-PGH Medical Center. He obtained his medical degree at the University of the Philippines - College of Medicine. He also graduated cum laude (with honors) at U.P . Manila with a B.S. Biology degree.
Dr. Lajo is a staunch believer in Continuing Medical Education. To further his craft and to keep abreast and updated with the latest in procedures and techniques in Plastic Surgery, he has regularly attended workshops and seminars at the prestigious and respected Chang Gung Craniofacial Center In Taipei, Taiwan. Locally, he actively participates in the seminars, conventions, and post-graduate courses spearheaded by the PCS, PAPRAS, and ASEAN Congress of Plastic Surgery. These various venues for Continuing education provide Dr. Lajo with the necessary foundation for his growing practice in Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Lajo believes that the decision to operate should be made for medical or surgical reason with regard to the patient and not for the surgeon’s ambition, convenience, pride or fiscal needs. “Dont undertake that operation if you think you cannot give your patient the result he or she expects, either consciously or unconsciously,” Dr. Lajo advises to his colleagues.
Dr. Lajo believes that no operation is truly minor. He considers every operation a major case. “Just treat every patient as if he/she is your close relative,” he emphasizes. During his 6 years of rigorous and intensive residency training in Plastic surgery in the hospital, his U.S . trained mentors would always remind him that a good surgeon is not necessarily someone whose hands move fast but someone with adequate foresight...whose brain keeps ahead of the next step in the procedure.
In his years as a Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Lajo has found particular interest in Oriental rhinoplasty (noselift), one of the leading procedures which have dominated his practice. Moreso, blepharoplasty (upper eyelid deepset /eyebag removal) is another sought after procedure, followed by abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) , liposuction and breast augmentation, among others. |
